Near Dark represents the cultural and socio-economic diversity of the contemporary Australian identity, through emotive and compelling visual storytelling. We develop and produce original narrative, factual and commercial audio-visual work.

Building working relationships with a range of emerging and diverse filmmakers in Naarm / Melbourne led to Barış founding Near Dark, an independent production company.
He has established an independent slate of work that has engaged with national and international film festivals, as well as enabled further development and production opportunities for a diverse collective of creators and technicians.
With credits working on ABC, SBS, Disney+, Stan and other network commissioned content, Barış is currently working across development and production management roles, expanding his understanding of the financing and commissioning pipeline. He continues to develop drama and factual content with the view to capture the changing face of the Australian identity, through creative and compelling storytelling.
